Spike Jonze: Artist working in video

Before Where the Wild Things Are, before Nike commercials, and even before Fatboy Slim videos, Spike Jonze was still a very well known name; though it was to a comparably small audience. Jonze got his start in the skateboard scene, a culture which was at the time very close to the underground music scene.

This was pretty high tech for a low budget, early ninties skate video, but he was better known for his more low-tech, and highly bizarre sequences.



the aesthetic translated well to the world of music videos, and though his skateboard video days were far from over, Jonze's popularity in the music world made not only money much easier, but forged connections that would help launch a very successful Hollywood career.

i'm posting this because i thought it turned out pretty funny (quite by accident considering i did all the editing with the sound off). thought it would be fun to look back on at the end of the semester to see how far i'll have come.
